BATON ROUGE - The LSU men's basketball team will have its final public appearance this Friday prior to its season opener when the team conducts a Purple-Gold scrimmage at 5 p.m. on the main floor of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Admission to the event is free and entrance is through any of the three lower portal entrances to the building (Southeast, Southwest, Northwest).
Gates will open a half-hour prior to the start of the scrimmage at 4:30 p.m. The first 100 fans will received an autographed 2010-11 men's basketball team posters and all kids 12 and under will get free popcorn at the lower southeast concession stand.
The players will be divided but may switch teams during the course of the event which is expected to include two 20-minute halves with a possible overtime period scheduled as well.
The team took part in two NCAA-allowed "closed to the public" scrimmages over the weekend against other schools and this will be the final scheduled scrimmage before the season opener on Friday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. at the PMAC against Northwestern State.
During the Friday's event, fans will be able to pick up posters and schedule cards and kids who have signed up can pick up their membership packets for Mike's Kids Club. Also members of the LSU Athletics Ticket Office will be on hand to sell season tickets and the two mini-plans for SEC games that are available.
