Baton Rouge (NBC33) — Governor Bobby Jindal on Friday signed the warrant to extradite Bourbon St. shooting suspect Trung Le back to Louisiana, according to WDSU News.
Le, 20, was arrested in Mississippi on Friday, July 4. Since then, he has fought authorities who have been trying to bring him back to Louisiana to face charges.
In order to resolve the case, authorities asked the governors of Louisiana and Mississippi to step in. Now that Jindal has signed a warrant, the next step is for Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant to sign a warrant ordering Le back to Louisiana.
Detectives believe that at least two suspects fired shots on Bourbon Street that resulted in nine injuries and one death. They have reason to believe Le fired the first shot.
