Hammond, LA (NBC33) — Michael Wayne Elliot, 28, of Tickfaw, was arrested Monday on numerous drug charges after being caught in the act of trying to inject himself with an illegal narcotic.
On Monday, around 1:15 a.m., a Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s deputy was conducting a security check at a business on Happywoods Road. While there, the officer noticed Elliot sitting in a car parked near by.
According to a report, the deputy approached the car and saw Elliot in plain sight preparing a syringe for intravenous drug use. All the materials needed for preparing the drug were laid out on the dashboard of the car. The officer ordered Elliot to get out of the car. When Elliot stood to get out, two syringes fell from his lap.
The officer located two Xanax pills, six Valium pills, one Oxycodone pill, and a handgun inside of Elliot’s vehicle.
Elliot was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, 2 counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) IV, possession of CDS II and possession of a firearm with a controlled substance.
