GREENWELL SPRINGS, La (WVLA) - Ground is broken on a bridge replacement project.
The $20 million project will replace the current Magnolia Bridge on Route 64.
The current 2-lane bridge will be replaced with a 4- lane bridge. Over 20,000drivers cross the bridge each day.
Livingston Parish President Mike Grimmer says it's a project that will help commuters in his and EBR parish.
The new bridge is being built just to the north of the current one. DOTD hopes the project is wrapped up in late 2012.
