Baton Rouge (WVLA)-
ExxonMobil hosted a commissioning ceremony this afternoon to celebrate an expansion project at its north Baton Rouge refinery.
This new expansion will allow the company to produce a new ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel.
In addition to Baton Rouge, refineries in Texas and Belgium were also upgraded as a part of a $1 billion dollar investment to produce a cleaner fuel.
ExxonMobil now produces 6 million more gallons of cleaner burning fuel a day. 2000 local construction jobs were created to complete this expansion.
