Mayor of Sorrento steps down

SORRENTO, La (WVLA) - The mayor of Sorrento says he's had enough. In a letter to council - Blake LeBlanc says they "failed the test" when it came to things like governing as one - and talking about the issues.

The resignation was effective at the end of the meeting.

People in Sorrento tell NBC33 News say it's a shocking - but welcome move.

Mayor Pro-Tem Milton Vicknair will preside as Mayor until a new one is elected.
