BATON ROUGE, La (WVLA) -- Sugar cane harvesting season began almost two weeks ago. And for the next 90 or so days, The American Sugar Cane League along with the Louisiana State Troopers office want you to stay safe on area roadways.
Jim Simon and State Trooper Russell Graham want drivers to be aware of slow moving trucks transporting sugar cane from fields to sugar processing mills. They say drivers should exercise patience and caution when encountering the large trucks.
