Baton Rouge — The section of Claycut Road just west of South Foster Drive will be completely closed to traffic beginning Wednesday, February 26 for construction work to a pump station, according to Public Works Director David Guillory.
Weather permitting, Claycut Road is expected to reopen on Monday, March 17, he said.
The closure is necessary to upgrade Pump Station No. 4’s gravity collection main.
Guillory said the contractor is requesting a full road closure to install a deep gravity line in front of Pump Station No. 4, just west of North Branch Wards Creek, for a short distance.
Guillory said that due to the narrow width of the road and depth of the work a full closure of this road was needed to prevent any potential hazards to the traveling public.
He said the contractor is working diligently to expedite the work.
