LIVINGSTON PARISH (NBC33) — If you pass by the Satsuma exit on 1-12, something may catch you eye.
It's a jet, an F-4 Navy Phantom jet to be exact.
A Livingston developer brought it to the site early Thursday morning. The navy donated it to the developer to put it to good use since it's been out of commission for a while.
The Mayor of Livingston, Derral Jones, said he's delighted with the city's new addition.
"Anything that makes us nicer or prettier or brings more attention, we're excited about it, and this is just an absolutely wonderful idea," said Mayor Jones.
The plane will be restored and elevated nearly 20 feet in the air within the next month.
Mayor Jones says the area around it will eventually be turned into a park.
