NEW ORLEANS (NBC33) — In New Orleans, the city is preparing for the NBA All-Star weekend.
The four day event will bring an estimated 50,000 visitors to the Big Easy where a $90 million economic impact is expected.
It will be the second All-Star Game in New Orleans in the last six years.
Host committee co-chair and former Southern Baseketball great Avery Johnson says it's a location that knows how to handle the spotlight,
“...more than anything the city of New Orleans knows how to star in its role.”
The festivities kick off tomorrow with the NBA Jam Session in the Morial Convention Center at 4 p.m.
