BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Five LSU Public Relations students are trying to help get LSU it's first win in a national public relations competition.
Elise Bernard, Emily Beck, Erin Kenna, Allison Sage, and Anna Long make up Krewe Public Relations. They're representing LSU in PRSSA'S Bateman Case Study Competition.
"We are a krewe. We are a group of people that came together and for our clients to make it entertaining. We want to make it fun and interesting," Erin Kenna, Krewe Public Relations team member, said.
They are competing against other collegian teams from across the country.
"It's been a really big honor actually. It's been really challenging and a lot of fun. We get to take everything we ever learned about public relations and put it all into one campaign," Elise Bernard, Krewe Public Relations team member, said.
They created a public relations campaign for a company, and now they're trying to raise student's awareness of the project.
Kenna explained, "We're doing a lot of organization visits. We're trying to spotlight those organizations that are very vocal on campus: LSU ambassadors, LSU student government."
They've done promotional events around campus and spent hours working on and implementing their campaign.
"It's very time consuming. We go to school and we work on our project. We go home and we work on our project and then we dream about our project it's everything we think about these days," Bernard described.
Now the say they need the community's support to help them win.
"Because we this competition team with only five women we still want the Manship community to uplift us," Kenna said. "We want the LSU community to uplift us. We have to support each other, because we are putting LSU on the map essentially. We can not do that with just five people. So, we need as much help as we can get. "
The group will submit a final evaluation of their project for the competition at the end of March. The Judges will pick a winner in May.
