ORO VALLEY, AZ (NBC) — A 92-year-old Arizona driver fled the scene of a serious traffic accident, and the excuse she gave police is drawing attention.
Persis Draper of Oro Valley is charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and failure to control speed.
Draper says that a case of diarrhea prevented her from staying after she struck pedestrian Dori Stolmaker. Once home, so upset, instead of calling 911 she says she took a sleeping pill and woke up to deputies knocking at her door.
