BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The following is a list of non-school closures and cancelations due to winter weather.
19th Judicial District Court will be closed Tuesday, January 28 due to weather
Ascension Parish Governmental Offices
With an impending winter storm system approaching the area, all Ascension Parish governmental offices, except for essential departments, will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, said Parish President Tommy Martinez.
Wednesday’s office hours will be decided on Tuesday afternoon, President Martinez said.
President Martinez declared a State of Emergency for Ascension Parish effective at 2 p.m. Monday.
Assumption Parish governmental offices will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 28 and Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Bally Total Fitness at Perkins Rowe is closed Tuesday and Wednesday
Baton Rouge Bar Association
The Opening of Court, Memorial & New Member Ceremony, originally scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at 8:30 a.m., has been postponed. The new date will be Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at 8:30 a.m. and the ceremony will be held at the 19th Judicial District Courthouse in the 11th Floor Ceremonial Courtroom.
Baton Rouge Legislative Issues Conference, presented with BRAC, will be rescheduled to January 31, 2014 at 11:30 am at LABI's Conference Center, 3113 Valley Creek Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
Better Together Assembly
Because of the expected ice storm tomorrow, the first Public Assembly of the Better Together movement is being RESCHEDULED to Tuesday, February 4th, 6:30pm, at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive, 70809.
CC’s Coffee House Bolder, Fresher Unveiling Event has been rescheduled and will be held on Wednesday, February 5. All other information remains the same.
The Capital Region Planning Commission has cancelled the January 27, 2014 Commission meeting scheduled for the River Center due to severe weather conditions.
The Capital Region Planning Commission’s joint Transportation Policy Committee/Transportation Technical Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for January 28, 2014 at BREC Headquarters on Florida Blvd. is cancelled due to severe weather conditions.
The offices of the Capital Region Planning commission will be closed on January 28 and January 29, 2014 due to severe weather conditions.
CATS will not operate service on Tuesday, January 28th. Management will continue to monitor road conditions and weather. We will reopen as soon as conditions allow. Further information and alerts will be available via CATS website.
The Charter School Facility Code Compliance Summit scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2014, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 5, 2014, due to inclement weather. EBR City-Parish offices
Due to inclement weather, Mayor Melvin L. “Kip” Holden has announced that City-Parish offices will be closed Tuesday, January 28, and Wednesday, January 29. Mayor Holden said he plans to make a determination on Wednesday as to when the offices will be reopened.
Each City-Parish Department’s essential personnel are responsible for coordinating with their supervisors and reporting for duty if required as outlined
in their Continuity of Operations Plans.

EBR Garbage, Recycling Pickup
Solid waste (garbage and trash) and recyclable material will not be collected Tuesday and Wednesday due to the adverse conditions that are expected on the interstates and other roadways.

Genesis Energy job fairs
Due to weather-related safety concerns, Genesis Energy has cancelled its job fairs originally scheduled for this Tuesday and Wednesday for available positions at its Scenic Station crude oil rail facility in Baton Rouge. Today’s job fair is still on as scheduled.

Livingston Parish governmental offices
President Layton Ricks has announced parish governmental offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
“We are closely monitoring the weather,” said Ricks. “At this point we feel it is in the best interest of our parish employees to stay safe during this winter weather situation.”
Ricks also advised citizens in Livingston Parish to take the necessary precautions as the winter weather approaches.
Ricks said essential employees should still report to work.

Commissioner of Administration Kristy Nichols announced today that state government offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 28, in the following parishes across Louisiana where hazardous driving conditions and scattered power outages are forecast for the morning due to a mix of rain and sleet, as well as snow and ice accumulation:

North Oaks Health System is canceling the following elective services for Tuesday, Jan. 28 and Wednesday, Jan. 29 at all Tangipahoa and Livingston locations:
· all elective surgeries and procedures
· all outpatient diagnostic appointments
· all outpatient rehabilitation appointments
· all infusion therapy appointments
· community education and support group meetings.
All North Oaks Physician Group clinics also will be closed both days with Walk-In Clinics closing at 6 pm today.
Sleep studies scheduled today, Jan. 27-Wednesday, Jan. 29 also will be rescheduled at a later date.
North Oaks Medical Center will remain open to care for hospitalized patients and those in need of critical emergency services. North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital also will remain open to care for hospitalized patients.
Peoples Health Offices, Service Centers and Primary Care Plus Clinics will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 28, and reopen at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 29, in the Greater New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Mandeville areas.
