THIBODAUX, La (NBC33) — The Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced that Nicholas Queen, 29, of Thibodaux, was arrested for attempted murder after shooting a man on Monday.
The incident happened in the Marydale neighborhood after the two men got into an argument shortly before 11:00 a.m.
When police arrived on the scene, they took Queen into custody. The 25-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Allegedly, the two men were arguing over who had the better pit bull.
Queen reportedly ran back to his house to get a shotgun. As he was walking back to the victim’s residence, Queen saw the victim driving a car. Queen fired a shot into the driver’s side door of the car, hitting the victim in the thigh.
After being shot, the victim was unable to stop his vehicle and crashed into a pickup truck that had three people inside. The three people in the truck suffered minor injuries from the crash.
Detectives questioned Queen, and he admitted to shooting the victim.
Officers also recovered the shotgun allegedly used in the shooting under Queen’s house.
Queen was taken to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center and booked for Attempted Second Degree Murder.
Police are still investigating the incident.
