(NBC33) — Lolo Jones, a former LSU Tiger, has officially been named a member of the U.S. Olympic bobsled team.
Baton Rouge locals might remember Jones from her time as an LSU track and field standout.
Other sports fans might remember her from the 2008 and 2012 summer Olympics where she failed to medal, despite being favored as a top contender.
This year, Jones hopes to make it to the podium as part of the U.S. bobsled team.
She is joined by another track and field star, Lauryn Williams.
Jones and Williams will be the ninth and tenth Americans ever to compete in both the winter and summer games.
You can watch this year’s Winter Olympics on NBC33 starting Feb. 6.
