BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Superintendent Bernard Taylor is publicly denying any allegations of widespread cheating in the East Baton Rouge School System.
Superintendent Taylor says he and his team use a system of 'self reporting' when it comes to testing discrepancies.
He mentioned that he and Superintendent White did speak yesterday after cheating rumors surfaced.
“It has come to our attention there may be discrepancies in academic records in East Baton Rouge Parish," said Superintendent John White on Wednesday. “We are looking into the situation and will provide further information at a later date."
Taylor says the two discussed one instance where a student was allowed to graduate one credit short. Taylor said the problem has since been remedied
Taylor also referred to a report listed on the Department of Education's Website that details the few discrepancies reported from the 2013 testing year, released this month.
