PIERRE PART, LA (NBC33) — Early in the morning on Jan. 1, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from a local hospital about a patient in the emergency room who stated he’d been in an altercation at a bar in Pierre Part.
The patient, a 39-year-old man from Pierre Part, had a large cut above his eye, and the eye was swollen shut. Doctors also determined that he had a fractured eye socket, fractured nose, and potentially had fractured facial bones.
According to a police report, the patient received about four stitches and will need surgery for his injuries.
Detectives were able to interview several people who witnessed the altercation.
They all gave similar accounts stating that the victim had bumped into Trey Hebert, 17, while Hebert was playing pool and making his final 8-ball shot.
An argument followed, and Hebert hit the victim in the face several times.
All witnesses identified Hebert from a photo line-up as the person responsible for the assault.
Hebert was booked into the Assumption Detention Center and charged with one count of Second Degree Battery.
