BATON ROUGE, LA (WVLA) - It's October so you might not be too worried about taxes, but the IRS says now is a good time to look things over.
October 15th is the deadline for filing taxes if you filed for an extension back in April. It's also an important day for small charities that haven't filed with the IRS. Those charities could lose their tax exempt status if they don't register - and that could lead to some pretty stiff penalties.
Officials go on to say now's a good time to make sure enough taxes are being taken out of your check so you don't end up owing next year.
