BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Hundreds of people in need will be a little warmer thanks to an organization that gives out blankets to the homeless.
With a Purpose brought its Blanket for a Blanket program to St. Vincent De Paul's homeless shelter in Baton Rouge, Saturday morning.
The company sells collegiate blankets. For every blanket sold, another blanket is given to someone in need.
"It's great to partner with a shelter like this to help the homeless and help them stay warm in the winter," Michael Smit, from With a Purpose, said.
"Well, we could use all of the help we can get," Carl Taylor, Assessment Counselor at St. Vincent De Paul, said. "We're just grateful for the people that provided them."
With a Purpose also stopped in New Orleans. Between the two cities, more than 300 blankets were given out to the homeless throughout those areas.
