BATON ROUGE, LA — Here is NBC33's Fantasy Football Minute powered by www.whotostart.net ...
Philadelphia Eagles (@MIN): Last week's blizzard bowl is a distant memory, although RB LeSean McCoy may want to truck in some snow this week. The passing game will be on display this week as the Eagles come to Minnesota to face a Viking defense that is #30 in terms of allowing fantasy points to QBs and dead last against WRs. They even have issues with tight ends. Problem is, Zach Ertz and Brent Celek will split the targets. Rely on Nick Foles and your pair of WRs, but tread carefully with the TEs. Solid Starts: Foles, DeSean Jackson, Riley Cooper Risk/Reward Starts: Ertz, Celek
Jacksonville (vs. BUF): Yeah, you're reading this right. Buffalo is second only to Minnesota in terms of futility vs. opposing WRs. Interestingly, they are middle-of-the-road in terms of giving up points to QBs. Try and figure that one out. But fact remains, if you're looking for a sleeper WR this week in PPR formats, look to Ace Sanders. And make sure Cecil Shorts is in your lineup. Solid Starts: Shorts Good Start: Sanders Deep Sleeper: Chad Henne
New Orleans (vs. STL): The Saints got back to their scoring ways last week via the air. The ground game could be on display a little more this week as this week's opponents, the St. Louis Rams, have a ton of trouble stopping the run. This bodes well for Pierre Thomas, who will carry the ball the most and is involved in the passing game too. Expect Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram to get some work, too. Solid Start: Thomas Good Start (ppr only): Sproles Sleeper: Ingram
Green Bay (@DAL): No defense has yielded more fantasy love to RBs than Dallas. This bodes well for Eddie Lacy, who's been on a scoring tear in the second half of the season. He's also used in the passing game which ups his value. Now, if the Packers can somehow build a good lead on the Cowboys, expect Lacy to rest late while James Starks pounds the rock. Those in dire need looking for a flier could jump on Starks. He'll get carries this week with Lacy a little gimpy. Solid Start: Lacy Sleeper: Starks
Jason Campbell (vs. CHI): It's time to start paying attention to the Browns passing game. They actually lead the league in passing attempts per week. Yup, more than Denver. More than New Orleans. With a hot-as-heck Josh Gordon and what appears to be a resurgent Jordan Cameron, you can expect Campbell to be more than effective against this porous Bears defense.
Andre Ellington (@TEN): We have been down on Ellington of late, recommending to our clients that they sit him. At this point that might look like a mistake. Even with a "touches limit", Ellington is making plays. The Titans are dreadful against the run, so Ellington could easily turn his "limited touches" into plenty of big plays, yardage and maybe a score. Better prospects for those in PPR formats, of course.
Emmanuel Sanders (vs. CIN): Big week for the Steelers passing game. Big Ben and Antonio Brown are likely gone in your league, but if you still want a slice of this pie, go for Sanders. Both Bengal starting CBs are dinged, so we're likely looking at Sanders and Brown facing backups. Sanders could be in for a big, big day.
