HAMMOND, La (NBC33) — Detectives from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Burglary Unit made an arrest on Tuesday, Dec. 10, in connection with a recent residential burglary.
While investigators were searching an area on Morris Road, they found a vehicle that was reportedly present during another residential burglary that occurred on Saturday, Dec. 7.
The suspect’s vehicle was located in a trailer park near the intersection of Morris and River Roads. The car was occupied by two males.
As officers approached the vehicle, the suspects abandoned the car and fled in opposite directions.

Officers spoke with three females at that residence who claimed that Showers was not there.
Showers emerged from a back door and tried to run again.
After a short chase, Showers was caught and arrested.
The three females at the residence were also arrested for obstruction of justice.
Further search of the suspect’s vehicle led to the recovery of a stolen item
