CONVENT, LA (NBC33) — Investigators are seeking one of the witnesses to the fatal crash that killed a Gonzales woman in St. James Parish on Nov. 27.
Officers spoke to several witnesses at the scene and later on in the investigation.
One witness told police that she was driving two cars behind Lewis’s vehicle, which was reported as veering across the centerline and hitting Davis’s car.
The same witness also stated that another woman was driving behind Lewis’s car. The unknown woman reportedly stopped her vehicle and made several comments to bystanders about what might have caused the crash. However, this woman left the scene before troopers were able to speak with her.
Police believe that the unidentified woman may live out of state. However, they hope that she made statements to family members who may live in the area and are familiar with the crash.
Officers wish to speak to this witness to help bring closure to the families affected by this fatal crash.
