BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A recent YouGov/Huffington report revealed that 80 percent of those surveyed this month say they will not be shopping on Thanksgiving Day.
Seventy-four percent said they think retailers should remain closed on the holiday and wait until Black Friday to open for shoppers.
Despite the large number of consumers who prefer to stay home, many companies, such as Wal-Mart, Target, and Best Buy, will be open for Thanksgiving. Some employees don’t mind having to work on holidays because they can make extra money.
However, there are a number of Baton Rouge stores that will recognize the holiday by not opening that day.
Below is a list of 12 major retailers in Baton Rouge that will be closed for Thanksgiving:
- Barnes & Noble
- Burlington Coat Factory
- Hobby Lobby
- Home Depot
- Maxwell’s Market
- Radio Shack
- Sam’s Club
- TJ Maxx
