LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA — Livingston Parish Sheriff's Deputies will soon be out in force, cracking down on bad drivers.
The sheriff's office just received a federal grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
They'll use the money to pay deputies overtime for traffic safety enforcement, which means you can expect more deputies to be out checking for drunk drivers and seatbelt use.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office isn't the only Louisiana law enforcement agency to be on the receiving end of some money – the Zachary Police Department, Baton Rouge Police Department and Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Deputies have received similar grants.
