IBERIA PARISH, LA — A bomb threat was called into Iberia Middle School on November 6.
At approximately 7:48 p.m., deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office were called in after the school received a bomb threat.
A Haz-Mat unit arrived on scene along with the Iberia Parish Fire District.
A search of the school was done by emergency personnel on Wednesday evening and again this morning.
A dog trained to detect explosive material was provided by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and assisted with the search this morning.
Also, students that arrived at school were checked by school personnel to ensure no devices were brought on to the school’s campus.
No threat was located and classes resumed as normal.
The incident is under investigation by detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
