TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA — Two people were arrested and five children were placed in the custody of a family member after being found in a home containing illegal narcotics and used syringes.
In the evening hours of November 4, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office's Burglary Unit arrived at home in the 16300 block of Hwy 1064 in Natalbany to execute an arrest warrant on Yance May, 27. May had outstanding warrants for a theft charge and an FTA warrant.
Upon making contact with May, he was taken into custody without incident and a search of his residence ensured. Once inside of the residence, detectives observed what was described to be well- beyond deplorable living conditions. Occupying the residence were May, Taylor Kleinpeter, 22, and five children ranging from the ages of 2 – 10.
The search of the residence also revealed illegal narcotics and several used syringes.
As a result, the children were placed in the custody of a family member and the two adults were taken into custody.
Yance May was charged with Possession of CDSII, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Theft, Theft of a Firearm and five counts of Child Endangerment.
Taylor Kleinpeter was charged with Possession of CDSII, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, five counts of Child Endangerment and a Probation and Parloe violation.
