NBC NATIONAL NEWS — For nine months one brother did his job of serving his country while deployed with the U.S. Army to Kuwait. For those same nine months the other brother tried to focus on his school work at Thompson Valley High School in Loveland.
For those nine months the brothers kept each other in their thoughts.
"I still wish he was home. I miss him and get upset and stuff," 16-year-old Scot Gorter said.
His big brother is 26-year-old Josh McCollum, a PFC in the U.S. Army based at Fort Carson. Missing family reminds a soldier how long nine months can be.
