BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Not only did LSU score a win on the field this weekend, but they helped feed thousands of hungry people.
The annual CANapalooza food drive ended yesterday.
In total, the event collected more than 21,000 cans of food.
Student volunteers stacked up all those cans to make a replica of Tiger Stadium. Afterward, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank drove to campus and picked it all up yesterday.
They tell NBC33 it will be enough to provide nearly 18,000 meals for people in need.
