CALCASIEU PARISH, LA — Two have been arrested after burglarizing a home in Lake Charles.
On October 15, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a house on Park Road in Moss Bluff in reference to a report of a burglary.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the homeowner who advised when he returned home, he discovered his pool house and shop had been burglarized and a dirt bike and several rods and reels, worth over $900, were stolen.
During the investigation, deputies reviewed surveillance video from the home which captured two men, later identified as Colen M. Cole, 19, of Lake Charles, and Ted D. Blanchard, 20, of Westlake, entering the victim’s pool house and shop and stealing the items.
Deputies located the stolen dirt bike and one rod and reel in a wooded area near the burglarized home.
When questioned by detectives, Cole, who was arrested on October 22, and Blanchard, who was arrested on October 23, both confirmed to burglarizing the pool house and shop and stealing the items.
Both were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with simple burglary of inhabited dwelling; and theft over $500, and both released on a $4,500 bond set by Judge Clayton Davis.
The remaining stolen rod and reels were recovered from Blanchard’s home and returned to the homeowner.
