Lafayette, La — A manhunt in the Judice/Ridge area on Wednesday October 23 that caused four schools to take precautionary steps to insure the safety of the children on campus ended around 5:15 PM Wednesday when the two males who stole a four-wheeler and then crashed as they were fleeing were captured not far from the crash site.
Deputies arrested the pair of males charging them with felony theft and resisting an officer for their part in the four-wheeler incident and the chase that ensued.
Marcus Faulk, 18, of Lafayette is also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile because the second suspect is 13-years-old and is being held at Lafayette Detention Home.
Investigators were also able to recover a second four-wheeler at Faulk’s home that was stolen last week off of Golden Grain Road as well as two horse saddles that had been stolen in Lafayette Parish recently. Additional charges are expected against Faulk.
The two were taken into custody on Hog Alley Road nearly 9 hours after the pair ran away from the crash site. Three Lafayette Parish Schools and one Vermillion Parish School took precautionary measures most of the day Wednesday. Over 30 deputies were deployed including the Canine Unit, Air Support and Investigators to locate the men.
