BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 26-year-old woman was arrested yesterday for DWI after she allegedly hit a car and ran over someone’s foot.
According to the arrest report, the incident happened on Sunday, Oct. 20 at roughly 2:00 a.m. After hitting a vehicle in a parking lot located on Third Street in downtown Baton Rouge, the suspect, Catherine Phu, continued driving and injured a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian’s right foot was run over by the defendant’s vehicle, causing a broken foot,” noted the report filed by the Baton Rouge Police Department. “The defendant then fled the scene and was then arrested as she stopped for a red light signal on Florida Street.”
The officer claims Phu was visibly intoxicated.
“She was so impaired that she had to be carried out of her vehicle,” the report noted. “At First District she registered a B.A.C. of .170 percent.”
Phu was charged with DWI, Hit-and-Run, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Negligent Injury. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and released on a bond of $5,500.
