BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The litter on the levee in downtown Baton Rouge is back - bottles, food boxes, and more.
After NBC33’s report last month, the levee steps were cleaned up , but that's not the case now.
Deparment of Public Works officials in Baton Rouge say they're going to step up cleanup efforts along the river front.
They say crews are currently going out daily to clean up the area near the Paper Clip Dock and fountain on the downtown levee.
The DPW is now planning on expanding its pick-up area to include the levee steps and the entire Florida Street area.
Hopefully, that will get rid of the litter problem many are complaining about.
