LAKE CHARLES, LA — Two men have been arrested after robbing a check cashing business.
On October 15 at 9:48 a.m., Lake Charles Police were dispatched to an Insta-Cash in reference to an armed robbery.
The investigation revealed that two armed men, wearing masks, entered the business and demanded money from employees.
Once the suspects obtained an undetermined amount of cash, they left the business on foot.
The suspects then entered a vehicle that was later recovered abandoned in a vacant lot on Fall Street just east of Kirkman Street.
The vehicle had been set on fire by the suspects and an arson investigation is pending by the Lake Charles Fire Department.
Kevin Allen Ballard, 29, was charged with Armed Robbery and Armed Robbery use of a Firearm.
Cody Andrew Sturrock, 19, was also charged with Armed Robbery and Armed Robbery use of a Firearm.
Both of their bonds are set at $75,000.
