BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 21-year-old man spent the final quarter of the LSU game in handcuffs because he allegedly attempted to steal property from the athletic department.
According to the LSU Police Department, the incident happened at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13. While the Tigers were battling it out on the field, Tiernan Kilcoyne of Baton Rouge, was hotwiring a 4-wheeler from outside the Athletic Business office.
“He indicated to officers that he attempted to take the vehicle after he was dared by a friend,” Cpt. Cory Lalond, LSU Police Department, explained. “He attempted to start the vehicle by manipulating the ignition wires."
Kilcoyne didn’t get far. He was caught before he had the chance to take the illegal joyride. He was arrested and charged with Attempted Auto Theft and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Kilcoyne's bond was set at $7,500.
