LOUISIANA (NBC33) — While the 2003 LSU football team will be honored at halftime this Saturday, one member of that team will be busy getting ready for his next big fight.
Former fullback turned MMA fighter Shawn Jordan will be on the main card for UFC 166, which is taking place in Houston.
He will be fighting Brazilian Gabriel Gonzaga, who has a 15-7 record.
Jordan helped win multiple BCS titles while at LSU in 2003 and 2007.
After graduating, Jordan transitioned into Mixed Martial Arts, and has already earned 11 knockout wins and 3 submission victories, including one over fellow LSU alum and K-1 Kickboxing champion, Pat Barry.
Jordan has been on a roll as of late, winning four of his last five fights.
UFC 166 airs on pay-per-view on October 19 at 9:00 p.m.
