BATON ROUGE, La (WVLA) A fire this morning engulfed a garage on Calumet Street in Baton Rouge. Fire fighters arrived on scene to find the detached garage of the home fully engulfed with fire. The residents of the home were alerted by a neighbor.
Baton Rouge fire fighters responded a call around 10:00 this morning to find a detached garage of a home fully engulfed in flames. The residents of the home on Calumet were home at the time. A neighbor witnessed the flames and was able to alert the residents. A quick response prevented the fire from spreading to the home, but the garage and two vehicles were completely destroyed by the fire.
Fire fighters estimate the total damage at $25,000. The cause of the investigation is undetermined at the time.
