LAPLACE, LA (NBC33) — A decades old tradition is back in LaPlace this year after being interrupted by Hurricane Isaac.
On Friday, Oct. 4, the official poster for the St. John the Baptist Andouille Festival was unveiled. The fest of spicy sausage is in its 40th year and going strong, even though last year’s event had to be canceled due to damage on the fair grounds.
This year parish officials had a local artist incorporate the history of St. John into the promotional poster for the celebration.
"The poster is actually a representation of St. John,” Torri Buckles, Economic Development Director, said. “We have our food, our music, some of our historical places in St. John and we're just very happy with the final production."
The festival is set to take place on October 18, 19 and 20.
