BATON ROUGE, LA — East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputies from the Community Policing Unit will meet with community members at Chick-Fil-A on Siegen Lane from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. as part of the national program “Coffee With Cops” in an effort to come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues.
Anyone in the community is invited to attend.
“We hope the community will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know our deputies,” said Cpl. Chad Parker. “These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships.”
Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are being held across the county, as local Police Departments, Sheriff’s Offices, and State Police forces strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.
The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between law enforcement and community members one cup of coffee at a time.
