DETROIT (CNN) — Chrysler is recalling more than 140,000 pickups and SUVs worldwide because of a software glitch.
The recall involves 132,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees and nearly 11,000 Rams pickup trucks from model year 2014.
The company says software problems could cause warning lights to randomly illuminate and lead to a blackout of the instrument panel lighting.
Chrysler traced the problem to electronic modules in the anti-lock braking system.
Those with affected vehicles will be notified by mail, and Chrysler will upgrade the software at no cost.
The company says there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the issue.
