BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge man who was found on the side of the road with a head injury  as passed away. The coroner’s office has classified the case as an accidental death.
“The autopsy showed that he suffered from a drug over dose,” Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, Baton Rouge Police Department, explained. “The wound to his head was superficial, so they believe it was caused when he fell to the ground and hit the pavement.”
The man was found on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at roughly 3:30 a.m. He was found in the 6500 block of Scenic Hwy. He had no identification and his fingerprints were not listed in any database.
“He was identified with the assistance of the media,” Cpl. McKneely said. “People saw the reports that were issued and recognized the man’s description. They then contacted the man’s family members and they contacted us.”
The man passed away on Monday, Sept. 30. The autopsy was completed this afternoon.
