BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — LSU students are coming together to help each other out.
The LSU Food Pantry started this semester to help provide students with food who may be going their financial hardships.
It has taken the university three years to get this service up and running. Mike Mosley's the coordinator of the food pantry. Mosley said they've had a good turn out so far, but they have even higher hopes for the future.
"The idea of giving back. A lot of student organizations have already contacted me. We do service events throughout the year. We're looking for different opportunities to provide some sort of service, not just to the community of Baton Rouge, but starting right here on campus," Mosley said. "So, just to idea of giving back to the community that you're surrounded around every day."
Students who want to donate can bring up to two grocery bag full of goods. For bigger donations, you can set up an appointment with Mosley by email at email@example.com  or by calling (225) 578-9442. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. To 4:30 p.m.
