ST. MARY PARISH, LA — A 21-year-old man was arrested for domestic abuse after he threw objects during an argument and hit a woman in the face.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched for the call on Thursday, Sept. 19 at roughly 10:00 a.m. When they arrived to the home located on Lake Palourde Road, they found the female victim with blood on her face.
The woman told deputies she had been involved in an argument with Andrew Hebert of Amelia. During the fight he allegedly became violent and began throwing objects.
One of the objects struck the woman in the face. A deputy noted that the blood came from an injury to her nose.
Officials tell us children were present in the home during the time of the attack. Fortunately, they were uninjured. They did not specify their relationship to the victim, nor did they explain Hebert’s relationship to the female.
Hebert left the home before deputies arrived. Before he left he reportedly threw a television on the floor and broke a window and door of a vehicle.
The Berwick Police Department later notified deputies that they located Hebert and detained him for questioning. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the parish prison.
