IBERIA PARISH, LA — A New Iberia man has been arrested after stabbing a victim in the head.
On September 17, at around 08:40 p.m., deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1700 block of New Horizon Street in New Iberia in reference to a stabbing.
Deputies found that a 47-year-old male victim, had been cut during an altercation. The victim stated the he was confronted by the suspect who brandished a knife and stabbed the victim on the head.
The suspect was later identified as Lee Fowler, 28. Authorities located Fowler shortly after he had fled into a nearby field.
Fowler was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Battery. He also had an outstanding warrant for Monetary Instrument Abuse.
The victim only received minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the incident.
