BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Three people have been arrested for a shooting that happened yesterday afternoon. Deputies are additionally searching for a 16-year-old boy for his involvement.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at roughly 2:30 p.m. Deputies responded to calls about shots being fired in the 3000 block of Vancouver Drive.
Investigators believe the three suspects, Joyrie Knighton, 25, Raven Harris, 19, Garrett Burton, 18, and a 16-year-old juvenile approached a group of individuals standing outside of a residence. The two groups began to argue, and Knighton allegedly pulled out a gun and began firing.
No one was injured, but a bullet did strike a home that was occupied by an individual.
Investigators learned that the two groups have been involved in an ongoing dispute.
Harris was allegedly taken into custody without incident. Knighton and Burton allegedly hid in the attic of a residence, but were located and taken into custody. At this time they have not located the teen.
Knighton is charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder (4 counts), and Illegal Use of a Weapon. His bond was set at $180,000.
Harris and Burton are charged with Principal to Attempted First-Degree Murder (4 counts). Harris’ bond was set at $75,000 and Burton’s bond was set at $20,000.
All three were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
