BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — This Labor Day holiday, it's important you obey the rules of the road.
With many people going out of town or coming back from a long weekend, State Troopers say they'll be patrolling the I-10 corridor.
Across the south, 600 troopers will be out this weekend, making sure you're being safe.
They're cracking down on speeding, distracted driving, seatbelt use, and any criminal activity.
"We're going to be staffing up, manpower-wise, all over I-10, not just in Baton Rouge, but across the state,” stated Jared Sandifer with LSP. “It's actually a nationwide initiative that spans from Florida to California.”
If you're wondering, that's over 2,000 miles of roadway.
If you see an accident or an erratic driver, you can call State Police to let them know. That number is *LSP (star-5-7-7).
