TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA — Three poeple have been arrested after allegedly burglarizing multiple businesses in the Hammond area.
On August 27,a joint burglary task force comprised of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Hammond Police Department, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, New Orleans Police Department and the Louisiana State Police netted three suspects they believed to be involved with these crimes.
The three suspects are Sherod A. Champ, 39, Dominique J. Arce, 20, and Nicholas J. Luther, 28.
All three are being charged with the April 7 and May 22 burglaries of Boat City USA, located in Hammond. Additionally, two of the suspects are being charged with a third burglary on May 22 at EBI Machinery in Ponchatoula.
Combined, these subjects allegedly stole over $100,000 worth of property from these two businesses, with the majority of value coming from Boat City.
Supporting law enforcement agencies have additional, related charges pending on the three suspects for business burglaries occurring in their respective jurisdictions.
Sherod Champ, who is charged with 3 counts of burglary, is being held on a one million dollar bond in TPSO prison.
Arce is held in Orleans parish prison and Luther is held at Jefferson parish prison pending transfer Tangipahoa Parish.
