ST. MARY PARISH, LA — On Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 9:04 am, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a business of a counterfeit $100 bill.
The fake bill was reported by an employee of Dollar General in Bayou Vista. On Friday afternoon, August 16, 2013, a patron used the counterfeit money to make a purchase at the store. The deputy who responded to the complaint obtained surveillance footage from the time of the incident. In an effort to track down the origin of the bill, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking the identity of a female subject.
The extent of the subject’s involvement in the incident is under investigation. The subject is described as a white female with a medium complexion and light brown hair. At the time of the incident the female was wearing a white tee shirt, light green pants, and glasses. She was also carrying a brightly colored wallet. Investigators wish to speak with her regarding the bogus bill.
