LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA(NBC33) — For Ramsey Catoir Tuesday started out like any other. The normal morning routine getting her kids ready for school, but Tuesday something was changed.
"I was buckling the last one in, and I look over and there is a big void in my yard where my camper was," Catoir said..
Her family's 2004 Forest River Surveyor 23 foot pull behind camper was gone. She said she never thought something so large could just disappear.
"My first reaction was just you know I can't believe it. I can't believe it's actually gone and somebody had the nerve to come and pick it up and take it," Catoir described.
Livingston Parish Sheriff's Deputies are investigating the case. They believe someone snuck passed Catoir's home in the 12,700 block of Buddy Ellis Rd. Between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., and stole the camper.
"Somebody wanted it more than we wanted it I guess," Catoir stated.
Catoir has a message for the crooks.
"I just want them to know what they took away from my family," She said.
This weekend was supposed to be the Catoir's big family camping trip.
"I guess we won't be going now," she said. "That's our family vacations. It's always us camping. That's what me and my husband and my kids enjoy doing the most.
Catoir said her children's hearts are broken.
"It's hard. It's really hard. Especially on my kids to know that it's so easy for someone to come on to our property and us not even know it," She exclaimed.
The camper is white with an awning on the side and a bumper sticker that says "Grandmother's and Grandpa's play house."
