BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The Baton Rouge Convention and Visitors Bureau executive committee has approved a resolution aimed at repeating Bayou Country Superfest next year.
The panel's resolution gives Paul Arrigo, the bureau's president and chief executive officer and board chairman Claude Reynaud authority to conduct negotiations for the 2011 Superfest with Festival Productions Inc., the promoters of the event.
This year, the CVB, city-parish government and State Office of Tourism each dedicated $300,000 to help sponsor the star-studded country music festival.
Arrigo tells The Advocate that he is optimistic that festival promoters will select Baton Rouge to stage the Superfest, which drew about 87,000 to LSU Tiger Stadium on Memorial Day weekend.
