BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The East Baton Rouge EMS headquarters has a new home, and its location was picked to be more convenient for you.
The new 30,000 square foot headquarters is located right in the center of EBR Parish, near the Baton Rouge Metro Airport and other first responders.
This location is more accessible for the public, and they have more room to house all of their staff.
EMS officials say this facility allows them to host more training classes for the community. They say their goal is to be a medical hub for the EBR area.
"This is where we can have education for the people that are here in East Baton Rouge Parish,” stated Interim Director Chad Guillot. “We serve the public in not only responding to emergency situations, but we also serve them in education purposes."
The complex cost nearly $9 million to build and came from funds the agency saved up over the past 15 years.
